Ben and team did a fantastic job with our loft conversion and so we didn’t hesitate to appoint them for a second time to build a new wraparound extension on our house. From the start, Ben and team worked hard to complete the job on time, always courteous, involved us in all aspects of the build and kept the site tidy at all times. We have been extremely happy with the high quality extension that has been built for us and I would highly recommend Ben and team.

Affordable Lofts and Extensions completed work on our roof and chimney, replacing cracked lime mortar, renewing and repointing chimney brickwork and capping off unused flues. They were extremely easy to work with, excellent communications in arranging quotations and booking in the work. We were very happy with the completed work it was done on time and to an excellent standard. I would happily recommend Affordable Lofts and look forward to working with them in the future.

We decided to get our loft converted in 2021, and contacted several companies for suggestions on what would be possible and some quotes. We had a range of options, but found that Ben and Emma gave us the clearest idea of what we could achieve, and through their architect were able to put together a very competitive quotation for us. Work commenced in 2022 and the whole process was painless. Ben and team were very patient and flexible with my changes in design and requirements as the build progressed. The whole team were extremely professional and completed everything to a very high standard. Ben’s background as a carpenter really shone through. Other trades that I brought in, such as the air conditioning engineer and flooring installers, commented on how nice it was to see such a well built conversion with high quality materials and workmanship. The project was well run and was a lot easier than we had been expecting. We would highly recommend Ben and Emma to undertake your building project, and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again for any future building needs we may have.

We want to say how pleased we are with the work. Ben and the team were fantastic – it was really easy to accommodate them for two months. People on the estate have commented how fast and tight they were – and how tidy. Similar jobs here have stretched for many months.

Ben and the team have transformed our attic space into a fantasitc bedroom and ensuite. They flipped our existing stairs to help us get the most from the space. They offered great advice throughout. The team were courteous and flexible while we worked from home through most of the build. We are very pleased with the result!

Needed a supporting wall knocked out to open up and join the kitchen and dining room and the first people to contact were Affordable Lofts. A major factor in our decision is that Ben did a good job on the roof conversion immediately above this wall just a few years ago, so not only knows exactly what is “up there”, but we’d rather he do it than anyone else as we feel we can trust him. His quote was fine, and so we arranged a date. A skip turned up the day before, then Ben and his crew arrived along with steel joists and other materials. By the end of the first day, the wall was gone, scaffold poles held up the ceiling, new steels were in place, the 2nd day the gaps were filled, wall was replastered, etc.…. then tidied up and all finished – in just 2 days (we expected 3 days but they stayed late to finish!). A great job, well finished and we are very pleased. Will certainly be happy to use Ben again in the future.

We’ve never undertaken such a big house renovation project before, so didn’t really know what to expect. Ben and his team really took the stress out of the whole loft conversion project, with their relaxed, approachable and ‘nothing is too much to ask’ attitude.

It was great having people onsite each day who took such pride and care in their work. We have a young family and the team were really great with the kids, taking the time to answer the kids questions or just saying hello and waving each time they went past.

We couldn’t be happier with our loft extension. Ben and team were incredibly helpful and ensured all of our needs were met throughout the build. Nothing was ever too much for them and they were great at offering up suggestions and advice based on their previous experience which was really helpful. They helped us to create a beautiful sitting area with great views and managed to use every bit of space available to us for additional storage. We even managed to create a hidden ‘Narnia’ room which the kids love. I have recommended them to friends and family and urge anyone considering a build to use them, they were fantastic.

What can I say, we are more than delighted with all the work Affordable Lofts have done! They have transformed our home into something we only imagined it could be.

We first worked with Ben and his team back in 2012 when they built the loft conversion in our first home, back then they turned our house into our dream family home and we were thrilled with the results. So when we moved to a “project” again we did it knowing exactly who we wanted to guide us and support us with the building work.

From the first call we made, Emma and Ben were there so advise and bounce ideas off….. no question was too small!

Once the work started we knew we were in safe hands. Ben and his team were reliable, friendly and full of expertise. The build ran smoothly with a constant flow of work and progress being made, which is what everyone prays for when their home under goes any work. I think I had underestimated how vulnerable you can feel when you see the walls coming down in your home but knowing we had Ben and his team there each and every day gave me confidence and alleviated my worries.

Ben and his guys did a fantastic job of my loft conversion (double bedroom and ensuite). They were polite and on time, and very mindful of our space and privacy; Ben was always very helpful and willing to answer all my questions; he also found a creative solution for the shower room door, and was very prompt when it came to fixing the couple of unforeseen problems we had the end. Emma kept the project on track throughout; the subcontractors were all excellent. I am very happy with the result.

We are really happy with our beautiful converted loft. We cannot fault the workmanship, it is really of a high quality both the structure and the finishing is great.

Ben was the most cost effective of the 3 builders who quoted for our project but this did not mean the quality was sacrificed, the attention to detail all the way through was superb.

And it was all done in a pleasant friendly manner including all the team and sub contractors, they all cleaned up at the end of the day making the house habitable throughout.
